Kings XI Punjab

The team called the Kings XI Punjab is one of the teams which played in the Indian Premier League, and is a franchise based in the city of Mohali . The captain of the team is Yuvraj Singh, who is known as the Icon Player of the team, and the coach of the team is Tom Moody. Tom Moody used to be an all rounder in the Australian cricket team. There are several owners of the franchise rights of the team, and they include Mohit Burman of Dabur, Karan Paul of the Apeejay Surendera Group, Ness Wadia of Bombay Dyening, and Preity Zinta who is a Bollywood actress. Theey bought the rights on paying a total amount of seventy six million U.S dollars.

In the 2008 season of the India Premier League, the team lost the first two matches which they played. They also lost two foreign players, Simon Katich and Brett Lee, who had to play for the Australian cricket team, but they still managed to perform well. Out of the next ten matches, they won nine, and made it to the semi finals. They then lost the semi final against the Chennai Super Kings, who won by nine wickets.
