He then concluded the three test matches with thirteen wickets and was ranked second amongst the best Australian bowlers, first being Shane Warne with 14 wickets.

Brett Lee got his 200 th test cricket wicket in the year 2006, in March and April, during the South African tour, it was his 51 st match and he earned in all 5 wickets with 69 runs.

Brett Lee was given the name of one the Wisden cricketers of the year 2006. However he could not maintain his stability in the test match with Bangladesh, taking two wickets and giving 93 runs. This ranked him in the lowest of all the bowlers' averages in the Australian team.
